The Bench — PermitsPros Pro Network

You’re not inventory. You’re the bench.

PermitsPros keeps a bench of license-verified pros the desk calls on when an owner’s job fits. One job goes to one pro, with the permit handled. No leads for sale. No bidding wars. No race to the bottom.

On the wrong side of the desk? Property owners — find a pro for your project, or start on the owners page. Pros who just need a filing today — file a permit, no bench seat required.

The money rule

You never pay for a conversation. You never pay for a lead.

The speed rule

Speed belongs to the desk — we answer the owner, so you never race a phone.

The start rule

Live the moment your license verifies. No 24-hour shadow.

The Proof Record

Your issued permits are your reviews

Star ratings can be imported, bought, and gamed. A permit ledger can’t — it’s work the cities already inspected and stamped. Every bench pro carries a proof record in this format, and owners see the record, not adjectives.

Import your permits, not your reviews. Bring the permits you’ve already had issued — they become your profile on day one. The verification stamp carries a date because trust that can’t expire isn’t trust; when a license lapses, the stamp comes off until the record reads clean again.

Verification

The checklist that reads the record

Every check below reads a record — never a saved checkbox that can go stale. The desk verifies within one business day of your application and stamps the date on your bench record. A check that stops being true un-checks itself.

  • License status, read from the issuing record

Source: CSLB license record (or your state/county licensing record) — read at check time, date stamped on your record

  • License class matches the work you take

Source: the classification printed on the same license record — the desk matches jobs to classes, not keywords

  • City business licenses current in your towns

Source: the city business-license records you give the desk at signup — renewal dates ride on your bench card

  • Insurance on file

Source: the GL certificate you send the desk — its expiry date is part of your record, not a yes/no box

  • Then the stamp lands

Desk verification within one business day — and you are live on the bench the moment it lands

Counts that confess

One job goes to one pro

When an owner’s job fits your bench card, the desk sends it to you — chosen for your license class, your ZIP, and your open capacity. It is never auctioned. It is never blasted to thirty phones. You will never find out about a job by losing a race to answer it, and you will never pay to be one name in a crowd.

The Paperwork Desk

The desk keeps your papers current

A contractor working eight towns can hold eight or ten registrations — and every one of them has a renewal date that can quietly cost a job. Bench members get a registration watch: the desk tracks the dates and flags them before they lapse.

Registration watch — Chicago bench

Your Cook County registration renews in 2 towns this month — the desk keeps your papers current, so a paperwork date never costs you a job. One desk renews them all, before they lapse.

Sample shown. A member’s real card lists his real towns and dates, read from the records the desk holds.

The Lanes

Four lanes. Never blurred.

Every seat on the bench is labelled with the credential behind it. Owners see the lane on your record; the desk matches inside it.

Lane 1

Licensed contractors & GCs

You hold the license and run the job. The desk keeps your filings moving at flat prices and brings you finished matches — owners whose permit question is already answered.

Lane 2

Licensed installers

Your trade license is verified before your first match, and every permit issued on your work joins your proof record. Finished work, not chances.

Lane 3

Handymen — city business license

The everyday repair work that needs no trade license. On this bench, your city business license is your credential — the desk reads it the same way it reads a CSLB record.

Lane 4

Handymen — no trade license

The compliance umbrella: when a job needs a permit, PermitsPros files it, and the work is matched with a license holder where the law requires one — you stay inside the lines and take the bigger jobs.

Take a seat

Apply to the bench

Tell the desk who you are and what you’re licensed to do. Verification reads the record — legal name, license, jurisdictions, insurance — so give it exactly what the record says.

The desk verifies every license against the issuing record before the first match — within one business day — and stamps the verification date on your bench record. PermitsPros makes introductions; your contract is directly with the client. We’ll reach out personally before you’re matched.

Not taking a seat today? The desk still files for you — file a permit at flat prices, bench seat or not.
