How the hotline works
- Pick the trade — open the order flow on your phone and choose the electrical panel upgrade. Like-for-like swap or full upgrade, we take both.
- Upload the docs — scope of work, panel specs or cut sheets, a load calculation if your city requires one, and a few photos of the existing panel. Camera-first, works one-handed.
- We file it same-day — pay $125, and the permit goes to the city that day. You stay on the tools.
What's needed to file
- Scope of work — like-for-like panel swap, amperage upgrade, panel relocation, or subpanel addition
- Panel specs or cut sheets — amperage, manufacturer, number of spaces/circuits
- Load calculation — only if your AHJ requires one; we'll tell you upfront if yours does
- Photos — existing panel, meter location, and the work area
Missing something? File anyway — we'll flag exactly what's short and keep the filing moving.

Pricing
City permit fees are separate and paid by the client (owner or GC) directly to the city — or advanced under our Upfront program where it applies. We never add surprise charges. Filing is not approval or issuance — no one can promise those.
Generate a proposal link
Electricians: fill this in at the job site, then text the link to whoever approves — owner or GC. They tap Approve; you get the green light to file.
The inspection — pass it first time
Most panel swaps get a single final inspection. Here's what the inspector typically checks:
- Working space — 30 inches wide, 36 inches deep, clear in front of the panel
- Grounding and bonding — grounding electrode conductor landed, water/gas bonded where required
- Breaker directory — every circuit labeled on the panel schedule
- AFCI/GFCI protection — where the current code requires it
Requirements vary by city — this covers what most California inspectors check on a panel swap.
